The experience of total weightlessness

However, if you prefer to read, here’s a descriptive explanation of floating and benefits.

Inside the floating chamber is almost 400 kg of specially formulated Magnesium Salt added to 700 liters of water, which creates a 30 cm deep solution that is heated to 35.5 degrees C (skin temperature).

The temperature of the water makes it almost impossible to distinguish between parts of the body that are in contact with water and those that are not.

The buoyancy created by the thick solution of Epsom salt effectively nullifies the effects of gravity on the body and brings the individual closer to the experience of complete weightlessness.
This is the only situation, with the exception of astronauts, when so little gravity acts on the body.

With the earplugs inserted and, if you will, the internal lights of the tank turned off, the silence and darkness allow the mind to wander into the deepest possible state of relaxation.

In everyday life, a huge amount of brain power is expended every second to cope with the load that gravity puts on the body.
Now floating weightlessly, your body is perfectly supported by a cushion of silky liquid with the temperature of your skin.

Freed from all sensations of gravity, temperature, touch, sight and sound (which together account for 90% of normal neuromuscular activity), you conserve and redirect enormous amounts of natural physical and mental energy.

Extremely deep relaxation of floating “resets” the hormonal and metabolic balance of the body, strengthens immunity and accelerates recovery from the consequences of stress, illness, injury or strenuous exercise.

Since there is no need to send any commands, the logical side of the brain is redundant and its activity slows down until it synchronizes with the creative side. This leaves the individual in a dream-like state, similar to the thoughts you experience just before falling asleep and waking up.

Splošna izkušnja zelo dobra. Lepo mesto in lepo vzdušje. Pozneje mi je bil všeč prostor za sprostitev. Zame to ni bilo prvič, a prvič tukaj. Na začetku sem imela nekaj težav, saj rada pustim 2-5 cm odprta za zrak, pa vendar sem rada zaprta. Tukaj lahko popolnoma zaprete ali pa imate 20 cm odprto. Lahko pa nastavite prezračevanje, glasbo in luči. Predvidevam, da sem zaradi možnosti na začetku preveč razmišljal, potem pa sem se zagotovo sprostil. Enostavno ne potrebujem svetlobe in lahko kakšno uro ostanem v temi in tišini. Osebje, super prijazno.
Ničesar vam ni treba prinesti, vse imajo. Prostor za sprostitev super prijeten in prijetna skodelica čaja na koncu. Zelo priporočam.

FLOAT CENTER LJUBLJNA ponuja izjemno izkušnjo lebdenja na vodi.
Ob vstopu v prostore sem občutil pomiritev in prijetno energijo. Osebje je izjemno prijazno in pozorno, saj mi je podrobno razložilo postopek.

Sama terapija poteka v posebnih komorah, napolnjenih s slanico, ki omogoča lebdenje. Voda vsebuje visoko koncentracijo mineralno bogate Epsom soli, ki ima številne koristne učinke. Med terapijo sem se počutila izjemno sproščeno, umirjeno in spočito. Floating terapija je odlična za regeneracijo telesa, umski počitek in celostno sprostitev.

Na koncu terapije sem prejel v Chill sobi še prijetno presenečenje: piškot, čaj in vodo. Ušesne čepke,ki sem jih uporabljal med terapijo, sem tudi lahko odnesel (bojo danes prav prišli v novem domačem bazenu). To je zagotovo ena izmed najbolj prijetnih in sproščujočih izkušenj, ki sem jih doživel. Priporočam jo vsem, ki si želijo pobegniti od vsakodnevnega stresa in se popolnoma sprostiti.
Hkrati pa je to tudi odlična priložnost za vizualizacijo in sprostitev mišic po treningu. Jaz sem našel svoj mir in sprostitev. Ga boste tudi Vi?

The closest feeling to floating in Space…top team, cudoviti prostori s kotičkom za počitek z najboljšim čajem, kot da bi zbežal pred vsem zunaj. Vse pohvale teamu za organizacijo, trud ter topel pristop kjer se takoj počutiš kot doma. Floating pa je The one and only experiance, ki se ne da opisat z besedami…enostavno je treba probat.

Izredno prijetno osebje. Prostori polno pozitivne in lepe energije. Sama izkušnja lebedenja je prijetna in res sproščujoča. Lebdenje je trajalo 60 min in vmes sem malo zadremala, tako da mi je kar hitro minilo. Po lebdenju priporočam zaključiti v sobi za počitek, kjer lahko ob prijetnih zvokih umirjene glasbe, srebaš dober čaj v res lepih skodelicah. Ker je bilo pozno, si s prijateljem daljšega počitka nisva privoščila, vendar naslednjič zagotovo....tudi daljše lebdenje.
Priporočam. Predvsem po napornih dnevih....lahko pa tudi po nenapornih dnevih...kadarkoli :-)....

Odlična zen izkušnja sredi nakupovalnega vrveža Ljubljane 🧘🏽‍♀️ Kljub dvomom, zaradi bučne lokacije, se ne sliši absolutno nič in je Theta stanje res enostavno dosegljivo 😊 Parkirnini se lahko izognete z obiskom kavarnice levo od vhoda v stavbo.

Raj za utrujene (in za tiste ki se hočejo mentalno pripraviti na guzvo v Ikei :)). Bila sem prvič, zato sem se bolj spoznavala z komoro, se malo poganjala gor in dol po vodi (sem majhna) in uživala z občutku breztežnosti. V bistvu....komaj čakam da grem st, ker se po tej izkušnji počutim super:)
Fajn pa si je vzet kar malček več časa kot eno uro. Računajte da je floating celih 60 min. Potem pa še tuš, oblačenje, fenanje, in da spijete ful okusen čaj v res fenomenalno lepi sobi za oddih. Plus točke za projekcijo na steni 😍 se vidimo

Our Rooms

We can accomodate 4 people at once (each in its own individual room with shower and floating tank) and 1 couple in a Couples room with 2 tanks and one big shower.

We are currently t

Floating under the room

The room with the pantry is very simple. It has a pantry, a shower, and shelves and hangers for your belongings. We always go naked because that's how the feeling of relaxation is deepest. It's important to take a shower before and after floating, and also use the skin-friendly gel and shampoo that are there for you in the shower. If you have particularly sensitive skin, you can also bring your own cosmetics.

Ambient lights are on in the room, which vary from room to room. The chamber also has its own lights. After showering, you put earplugs in your ears and lie down on the floor. In a few minutes, the ambient lights will turn off as they act on a motion sensor. If, for example, you want to go out of the pantry or perhaps to the toilet while hovering, the lights will come on when you open the floor.

Ventilation is specially arranged in the room so that the air is always good and there is enough oxygen. There is also heating in the room. The chamber itself also has a heated lower part so that the water never cools down below your body temperature (approx. 35 °C). Celsius). The chamber is NOT airtight, so you can't run out of oxygen. You also have light and music switches (on/off) in the floor, as well as a fan switch that further blows in fresh air.

The room is private and just for you, you can also lock yourself in it. Float Center Ljubljana has four private rooms with floors.

Floating floor room for steam room

It's just a slightly larger version of the single floating floor room. It is made primarily for couples, but of course it can also be used by friends. It has two sets of floating chambers, two showers... all twice. Even if you're floating alone in the chamber, having your partner (or friend) right next to you can give you some extra confidence and a sense that everything is okay.

Cosmetic room

Floating in water with magnesium salt is healthy for the skin (and muscles), but it also dries it out quite a bit. The beauty room offers a skin-friendly body lotion, as well as face creams. If I need it before therapy, there is also a makeup remover and wet wipes. A hairdryer is also provided.

At Float Center Ljubljana, we strive to use only high-quality and body-friendly products. However, if you have special wishes, you can also bring your own cosmetics.

Relaxation Room

Once you're pleasantly calm after your float therapy, you may want to stay in the special bubble of experience a little longer before returning to "real life," where everything happens so quickly and most of the stimuli are external.

That is why we have developed a special "relax" room - a relaxation room. At first glance, it may resemble relaxation rooms in spas, but it's much more than that. There is a special blue tea for you, which has a beneficial effect on the body and mind and especially soothes you. There are some chairs or deck chairs so you can sit or lie down, which is more convenient for you or your friends at the moment. There are also some pencils and notes so you can write down any special thoughts you had during therapy.

We recommend that you stay alone with your thoughts and do not use your phone until you leave the relaxation room. If it's urgent, of course, you can do it.

In the relaxation room, special (and not too loud) relaxing music is also played. There are some energy crystals and salt lights in it, and the projector plays relaxing recordings, usually sounds from nature.

Reception

Our reception is a beautifully curated place where we’ll warmly welcome you. 

The combination of beige/wood, white and grey have a warm and soothing effect. You can take off your coat, jacket and change into more comfortable (always clean and disinfected with antibacterial spray) slippers.

First we’ll give you some forms to fill up if you are with us for the first time, and then the receptionist will explain to you how it all works.

Location

The building on Šmartinska Cesta 106 is excellently located.

Shortly before the entrance to BTC (near the Ikea center), quickly accessible from the ring road or the center of Ljubljana. There is a huge amount of free and paid parking space around.

One of the most important things about floating is that the space is quiet. The facility in which Float Center Ljubljana is located is exclusively office in the morning. The situation is similar in the evenings and on weekends. In the afternoon (approx. between 3 and 7 p.m.) it is a little louder around the center. Above us is a language school and a small judo club, parents come to pick up their children, cars drive around.

At the same time, there are at least three layers of walls between us and the noise. Firstly there are the greatly insulated walls and doubble ceiling of your floating room, then you put earplugs in your ears during floating therapy (not only because of the sound, but also because of the water and salt). 
And finally, the floating tank is again a separate and enclosed space few inches thick. We have though of all the possible ways to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration from the environment into the insides of our floatation tanks and have had great feedback on it.

What is floating?

Is floating completely safe?

Yes, floating is safe for most people. However, if you have epilepsy, open wounds or have recently dyed your hair or made a tattoo, it is not recommended to call the reception first before booking.

What can I expect while floating?

During floating therapy, you enter a chamber filled with warm water and Epsom salt. You can control the lighting, music and ventilation in the chamber and decide whether to swim with or without earplugs. Are the positive effects of floating therapy scientifically proven?

Floating therapy and floating chambers have been around for more than 50 years. There is a wealth of scientific research that has been published to date, confirming the positive effects of floating. Books describing the positive effects include "The Book of Floating" by Michael Hutchison and "Tanks For The Memories" and "The Deep Self" by John C. Lilly, a pioneer of floating, psychoanalyst and expert in experimental neuropsychology, who developed the first floating chamber in 1950.

I'm claustrophobic, can I float?

The whole environment in the flotation room, where the chamber is located, is designed to give you constant control over what's going on. If you feel uncomfortable, you can lift the lid of the chamber, turn on the lights inside the chamber, or even get out. The latter is very rare, as floating on water reduces claustrophobia and can eliminate fear of confined spaces.

Is the water clean?

The high concentration of Epsom salts dissolved in the water also acts as a natural disinfectant, creating a sterile environment in which bacteria simply cannot survive (just like in the Dead Sea).

In addition, our advanced filtration system combined with chamber cleaning after each use ensures 100% clean water for our visitors. At the end of each use, water is pumped from the chambers into the tanks through filters. The inside of the chambers are then thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next use. The water is passed through all the filters 2-3 more times before it flows back into the chamber, where it is ready to be used again.

What if I fall asleep?

Falling asleep while floating is actually quite nice. It's usually the case that every float is a little different - it all depends on how you're feeling at the time. The water is warm, it's dark and pleasant. If you arrive at a floating session tired, you may well find yourself dozing off for a while. No fear - sleep like this is very restorative and peaceful. Usually the body wakes up on its own after about 10-20min (the length of a "power nap"). You usually wake up quite calm and beautiful. However, if you "twitch" in your sleep, you may wake up jolting and get some salt water on your face, which is a bit unpleasant. It is washed off with a spray of clean water, which is placed inside the float chamber for this very purpose.

In the extreme case, you will wake up at the end of the session. First there's 5min of calm music that brings you nicely into the here and now, then a voice announces that the session is over, and then the system starts pumping water back into the tanks.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

At Float Centre Ljubljana, we have towels, slippers, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, make-up remover, earplugs, basic cosmetics (face cream and deodorant) and Vaseline in case of abrasions or scratches.

You can bring any other cosmetics you wish to use after the floatation therapy, if necessary.
