A few words about Epsom salt

Why Epsom salt is different from regular salt...

Today, we have prepared one such salty post for you.
That’s right – we’re going to talk about salt, even more specifically Epsom salt, how it’s used and how it can help you improve your health and well-being.

First of all, let’s put out “this obvious” – without salt, the human body cannot survive.
Without it, the brain doesn’t function, the muscles don’t contract… However, it is true that the amount we need is very small – less than a quarter of a teaspoon per day.
Apart from the fact that we die without it, people found out a long time ago that it is quite tasty, especially on fries or popcorn, for example.
In addition to consumption, salt is also wonderful for bathing.

Okay, salt is great, but what about Epsom salt anyway and is it the same as table salt?

Epsom salt is Magnesium sulfate, this is the chemical formula – MgSO₄.
That is: magnesium, sulfur and oxygen.
Ordinary salt (as well as marine, Himalayan) is chemically NaCl – sodium chloride.
Sodium and chlorine.

In terms of composition, the killings are quite different.
Both are chemically called “salt”, but if you try to lick Epsom salt, for example, you’ll find that it’s not salty – it’s bitter.
It is used for animals, it can be given to them for ingestion in case of magnesium or electrolyte deficiency, or it is used on the outside to disinfect wounds, rashes, etc.
It can also be used to fertilize plants.

But, of course, it has wonderful useful properties for humans as well.
Epsom salt is used in therapy for:

  • muscle relaxation
  • athlete’s foot
  • arthritis
  • exfoliating the skin
  • bowel cleansing

And yet, and yet…

And now we invite you to get to know them yourself – at the Float Center Ljubljana.
Each of our eggs (floating chambers) has almost 400kg of Epsom salts dissolved.
This allows you to float completely on the water, and at the same time deeply relax the body due to the high magnesium content.
Your skin and hair will thank you, too, and so will your muscles.
