What Scientific Research Says About Hovering

How much time do you spend on your phone?

I have a simple question for you today.
How much time do you spend on your phone?
🤳

If you don’t know, but want to check it out, go to e.g.
iPhone on “settings” – “screen time”, and you already see the numbers.
The menu shows about 6 hours a day for the computer, and about 45 minutes a day for the phone.

Isn’t that crazy?
I’m “sleepy” in front of a screen for almost a third of the day.
But the fact is, my numbers are probably still quite small.
In America, people spend about 5 hours/day on the phone alone.
In the UK, it’s 4h/day.
The answer I found “quickly” for Slovenia is about 2-4 hours/day.

In fact, no one knows exactly how this affects the human psyche.
Human evolution takes 6 million years, and mobile phones have been popular for a good 20 years.
You don’t have to be a scientist to understand that humans didn’t evolve for this…

Although we do not know the exact impacts, we suspect that there is quite a bit of danger.
Especially for children and adolescents who grew up with a phone.
According to foreign research, 1 in 4 teens exhibit problematic behaviors related to cell phone use.
It is these teenagers who are at greatest risk of developing anxiety and depression.
The incidence of suicide has doubled…

It’s not just about teenagers.
“Burnout” is now on the International Classification of Diseases.
30 years ago, no one used that word, but now you hear it everywhere.
Phones deprive us of the amount of sleep and social interaction.
Isn’t that ironic?
Social media reduces our social interaction.

In short – we are guinea pigs.
No one knows exactly how all of this will unfold.

By the way, at Float Center Ljubljana, we do not believe in some kind of conspiracy theories.
Phones have evolved for good reasons, but capitalism and other zeitgeists are taking us somewhere we’ve never been before…

Of course, we also have (at least a fraction) of solutions for you.

Let’s look at what happened to 50 anxious patients after just one hour of hovering.
By the way, anxiety in them was from all spectrums:

  • panic attacks,
  • general anxiety,
  • Ptsd
  • social anxiety.

Most of these patients also had some degree of depression.

Here are the results:

Absolutely ALL patients showed a reduction in anxiety.
In some cases, up to 50% and above.
A similar thing happened to people who do not have high levels of anxiety.

How long does the effect last?
We have an answer to that too.

About a day.
Wow!

And you see, THAT’S why we say hovering is a tool.
Even if you go once, the experience is unreal and wonderful.
But the real magic happens when it becomes part of your routine.

At Float Center Ljubljana , we are concerned about the state of the current society.
We are not condemning mobile phones, but we want to spread the message of caution.
Humans have never lived so fast, and no one knows how this will affect us in the long run.
Our mission is to help you slow down, relax, and live a better quality of life.

P.S. Most of this email/article was taken from a video by Dr. Justin Feinstein, a pioneer in the field of research on the benefits and effects of floating on the mind and body.
I definitely recommend watching the full video below, because it’s even better than this article.
